NACFB 2020 HEADLINE SPONSOR KEYNOTE

The NACFB is incredibly proud of our partnership with one of the UK’s most recognisable lending institutions. Lloyds Banking Group have been the NACFB’s headline sponsor for three-years and continue to partner with the Association to promote the vital role the broker market plays for UK SMEs.

In their keynote address, Andy Bishop, UK Director Business Development, SME & Mid Corporate Banking, looks back at a turbulent first half of the year and ahead to a more prosperous future.

Norman Chambers, NACFB managing director, spoke of the Patron: “I speak on behalf of everyone at the NACFB when I say we couldn’t be happier to have Lloyds as headline sponsor for our Virtual Expo.

“Our mutual commitment to championing intermediaries, as well as our focus on supporting the delivery of positive outcomes for their clients, is hardwired into the DNA of both organisations,” Norman added.

NACFB 2020 SUPPORT SPONSORS

As this is the first in a series of virtual events the NACFB is seeking to stage, today’s event provides recognition to the Patron sponsors who have supported the Association this year.

We'll be opening up the platform to all confirmed Expo exhibitors later in the year as part of an even bigger Virtual Expo.

Although the Aldermore team can’t be in Birmingham to see their broker partners, the NACFB Patron has shared the breadth of support and guidance they offer to intermediaries on ‘People & HR’.

The Funding Circle team (featuring Jeremy, Mike, James & Shaun) invite you to their Virtual Funderpark. Here, the Patron highlights how they’ve adapted and evolved their broker offering.

Landbay’s Managing Director for Intermediaries, Paul Brett, provides extensive insight into how the NACFB Patron could be the right fit for Members seeking to service their Buy-to-Let clients.

Allica Bank’s Head of Intermediaries, Nick Baker, examines how the commercial lending sector is in a period of great change, sharing how the NACFB Patron intends to keep well ahead of the curve.

Haydocks Broker Relationship Manager, Eleanor Russell-Blackburn, explains that with 40th birthday celebrations on hold, the Patron is already planning for the next 40 years of asset funding.

A full cohort of MFS representatives (including EJ, Ian, Charlie, Richard, Leah & Scott) share insights into how the Patron continues to partner with NACFB Members - despite remote working.

The Avamore lending team (featuring Chris, Adam & Andreas) each share their latest updates; including a notable increase in enquiries from borrowers using a broker for the very first time.

One Savings Bank’s Group Distribution Director, Roger Morris, speaks on behalf of Interbay and reflects on his favourite Expo memories and looks ahead to a future of ‘common sense’ lending.

Adrian Maloney, Group Sales Director of One Savings Bank, speaks on behalf of group partner Precise Mortgages, and shares how the NACFB Patron is bolstering its offering to UK landlords.

EXPO SPONSORS 2020

Known to many across the industry as an NACFB Board Director, Russ Lewis featured in Shawbrook’s first ever live virtual broker event, hosted by Emma Cox.

In this hour long session, Russ shares his combat experiences from Afghanistan, drawing out relevant themes that can be applied to our current circumstances.

Industry titan, David Whittaker, CEO of Keystone Property Finance, reflects on why the coronavirus crisis differs from 2008 and shares how Keystone are rising to the challenge.

LendInvest’s Director - BTL, Andy Virgo, shares how the Patron is readjusting to new operating normals. Justin Trowse, Director - Bridging, also points to encouraging signs for the specialist market.

LOOKING AFTER YOU

Paul Brett, Landbay’s Managing Director for Intermediaries, shares with the lending community some further important guidance. This time though, it does not concern financial products, regulatory adherence or even how Landbay are supporting landlord clients, instead, it concerns you.

In his presentation, ‘Looking after your mental health, now, and beyond COVID-19’, Paul speaks candidly about the pressures the entire intermediary community is under. Many of you will be supporting clients in considerable distress, whilst working to ensure your own business pipeline remains active. The strain these elements place on you as an individual, can at times feel insurmountable.

If you find your mental or emotional state worsens quickly, or you are worried about someone you know, further help is available:

  • The Samaritans offer emotional support 24-hours a day, for free and in full confidence. Simply call 116 123.

  • Rethink Mental Illness provide an advice and information line from Monday to Friday, 10am-2pm via 0300 5000 927 (calls are charged at your local rate).

  • Or you can talk directly to your GP, resources and guidance on how to do so can be found here.
